Second Lt. Matthew C. Librizzi gives the signal for his Marines to pass through friendly lines during rehearsals here March 7, 2012. The rehearsals were conducted in preparation of a two-day field training exercise. The Marines are from Combat Logistics Regiments 35 and 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, here to conduct exercise Forest Light 12-2, a bilateral combined command post and field training exercise between elements of 3rd MLG and the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment.
