Marines and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members conduct relay races in snowshoes here March 3 during exercise Forest Light 12-2. The relay races helped the Marines and JGSDF service members familiarize themselves with moving in snowshoes. The purpose of Forest Light 12-2 is to enhance the interoperability of Marines and JGSDF members while increasing individual and unit readiness in a cold weather environment. The Marines are part of 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
