Marines and sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 5, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, 1st Marine Logistics Group, get an opportunity to send comfort bears and messages to their children and family members prior to their deployment, during the Message from the Heart program aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 20. A Message from the Heart is a program created by the Lance Cpl. Jonathan W. Collins Foundation, a non-profit organization, in the attempt to help comfort the children of deploying Marines and sailors by allowing them to create their own comfort bears with voice chips, which were pre-recorded with messages from the deploying parents, along with any messages service members wanted to share with their families.
