Idaho Army National Guard, Sgt. Phillip Scheiber, Charlie Company, 145th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team, conducts in-field treatment for a simulated injury June 5, 2019, at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, Scheiber, a 68W combat medic, said that he enjoys the training because it provides him with hands-on experience that will help him in a real-world combat scenario. NTC provides realistic medical field training, including the use of amputees, fake blood and make-up.
The 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team is training at the National Training Center May 24 - June 20 to prepare for its wartime mission. The rotation builds unit and Soldier proficiency to provide combatant commanders with a trained and ready force capable of fighting and winning our nation's wars.
