The National D-Day Memorial Foundation held a ceremony June 6th, 2019 in memory of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, World War II. USS Normandy (CG 60), USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and Assault Craft Unit 2 (ACU 2), based in Hampton Roads, Va, paid tribute to their heritage by participating in The Final Salute: D-Day Plus 75 Years, at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Va, and maintain capabilities to meet new threats and challenges to today’s global security environment.
