NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (June 6, 2019) Senior Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Carl Higdon, from Newark, New Jersey, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford’s (CVN 78) air department, receives his frocking letter from Capt. John J. Cummings, USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) commanding officer, during a frocking ceremony at Victory Arch. In all, eight chief petty officers assigned to the Navy's newest aircraft carrier were selected for promotion to senior chief petty officer.
