A rigid-hull inflatable boat operated by sailors from the amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18) approaches the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Guadalupe (T-AO 200) for a simulated visit, board, search and seizure mission by the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit maritime raid force. New Orleans and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th MEU are deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
