Airmen from the 23d Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) coordinate their actions during airfield recovery training, May 23, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. The training consisted of Airmen responding to a simulated bombed airfield to perform the proper steps and procedures to ensure rapid airfield damage repair (RADR). Airfield damage assessment teams and RADR are two critical civil engineer capabilities that engineers must train on to maintain their readiness. CE Airmen can be sent to any Combatant Command area of responsibility and will join up with CE Airmen from other bases. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Erick Requadt)
