MEDITERRANEAN SEA (June 1, 2019) - Fire Controlman 2nd Class Zach Goodnight, from Tri Cities, Washington, and Fire Controlman (Aegis) 3rd Class Garrett Griffin, from Meeken, Colorado, load dummy rounds into the Phalanx close-in weapons system aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), June 1, 2019. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its sixth patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners as well as U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
