The Blackhorse of the Week is Spc. Keith Adcock, a financial management technician with the Headquarter and Headquarters Detachment, 24th Financial Management Support Unit, Special Troops Battalion, 300th Sustainment Brigade.
Why is this Soldier the Blackhorse of The Week? Pfc. Adcock is an exceptional and devoted Soldier. He places the mission first and is always looking to “improve the foxhole” in both an individual way and a team-oriented way. He consistently maintains a high degree of discipline and respect towards everyone he comes in contact with. Pfc. Adcock exemplifies the characteristics of the total Soldier concept by exhibiting a willingness to embrace any challenge and regularly overcome and exceed the standard of those challenges. An example of this is how he became a recent recipient of the coveted German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge – Gold Award. This achievement is indicative of his tenacity to complete the mission. He set a goal and overcame every challenge to achieve it. This Soldier has also already memorized the entire Non-Commissioned Officer Creed.
The Blackhorse of The Week Award is presented to Soldiers that show outstanding service, dedication to duty, and leadership throughout the Sustainment Brigade, area of operations. Each Soldier selected is presented with a certificate and coin.
