Sgt. Jason Briant, of Midwest City, Okla., receives a Bronze Star medal from Col. Michael Kinnison, officer-in-charger of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team demobilization, for exceptionally meritorious service in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from July 1, 2011 to March 5, 2012. Briant is a Mortarman with Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry and has served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard for 11 years.He was one of more the 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guard soldiers to serve in Afghanistan for the past eight months.
