The United States Marine Corps Color Guard lowers the Battle Color of the Marine Corps so the National Ensign flies solo while the national anthem plays during a Battle Color Ceremony aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., March 8. The color guard section has three teams and often participates in more than 1,000 ceremonies annually.
