ARABIAN SEA (May 21, 2019) A Reconnaissance Marine with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) Maritime Raid Force provides security in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) during integrated visit, board, search and seizure training. The Marines trained with U.S. Coast Guardsmen assigned to the Maritime Security Response Team’s advanced interdiction team in order to maintain operational readiness. The 22nd MEU and Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group are prepared to respond to contingencies and to defend U.S. forces and interests in the region. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
