U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine-Air Ground Task-Force Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, race to cross the finish line of the annual Spanish Fan-Pin race in San Fernando, Spain, May 19, 2019. The race consisted of an approximate 8-kilometer course, including an array of obstacles like an 1,800-meter-long stretch of mud that participants crawled through. The race enhanced military-to-military relationships and unit cohesion. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
