ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 15, 2019) The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Roosevelt (DDG 80) prepares to receive a small boat alongside for a personnel transfer. Roosevelt is operating in the Atlantic Ocean in support of exercise Formidable Shield 19. Formidable Shield is designed to improve allied interoperability in a live-fire, integrated air and missile defense environment using NATO command and control reporting structures.
