Sgt. Stuart Kortus, 3rd Platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 501st Airborne, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division and native of Tampa, Fla., begins to search a room for any kind of intelligence or weapons on Aug. 9, during an assault on a target location in the Hor Hussein area of Iraq as part of Operation Copperhead Road in support of Operation Marne Avalanche. Copperhead Road is an air assault operation that is focused on disrupting known insurgent operations involving explosively formed projectiles (EFPs) in the area of Hor Hussein.
