Master Chief Gamaliel Navarro answers questions from local media about what the Navy is doing in support of the Pacific Partnership mission, June 28. Along with several non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) is providing humanitarian aid and civil engineering assistance with host nations in Southeast Asia and Oceania in support of Pacific Partnership. Peleliu is uniquely capable of supporting medical and humanitarian assistance needs and has been configured with special medical equipment and a robust multi-specialized medical team to provide a range of services.
