A recruit with Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, scales an obstacle during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 14. During the course recruits must strive to overcome each obstacle to overcome fear and increase confidence among themselves. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate July 12.
