Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Bevitt, a boatswain's mate, steers USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) while Seaman Gabriel Carrizales looks ahead while on watch in the ship's bridge in the Persian Gulf on Aug. 9. Chung-Hoon has been conducting maritime security operations as part of Combined Task Force 158 in the North Persian Gulf for more than a month. Maritime security Operations help set the conditions for security and stability in the Gulf and protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure, which provides the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
