Hospitalman Apprentice Kevin Gonzalez, assigned to Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton's (NHCP) labor and delivery ward, hands a mother her newborn baby. NHCP is one of ten military treatment facilities overseen by Navy Medicine West (NMW). Throughout the region, NMW provides medical care to nearly 700,000 beneficiaries throughout the West Coast of the U.S., Asia, and the Pacific. Globally, NMW oversees eight research laboratories that deliver research expertise in support of warfighter health and readiness.
