190502-N-N0443-0001 GROTON, Conn. (May 2, 2019) Rear Adm. Kyle Cozad, commander, Naval Education and Training Command, right, discusses Navy Military Training (NMT) training with the leadership team at the Submarine Learning Center at Naval Submarine Base New London. NMT is a program conducted at “A” and follow-on “C” schools designed to continue the professional and personal development of junior enlisted Sailors during their initial phase of naval service. This performance-based military training process, provided by military instructors, enables transition from a highly structured recruit training environment to one of personal accountability and responsibility. The Submarine Learning Center trains all undersea warfare officers and ratings, including electronics technician (communications and navigation), fire control technician, sonar technician, machinist's mate (auxiliary and weapons), missile technician, and all nuclear training ratings.
