A U.S. Air Force maintainer from the 36th Maintenance Squadron, Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, establishes aircraft security after an in flight emergency during Exercise COPE NORTH 2012. Exercise COPE NORTH 2012, a three week exercise between the U.S. Air Force, the Japan Air Self Defense Force and the Royal Australian Air Force, began Feb. 11 here bringing more than 1,000 service members to the island. The exercise, which will run through Feb. 24, is designed to enhance air operations and serve as a reminder of the three nations are commitment to preserving peace in the Pacific area of responsibility.
