The U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia, Gordon Gray, right, meets with Cheyenne, Wyo., Mayor Rick Kaysen, left; Maj. Gen. Luke Reiner, Wyoming Adjutant General, center right; and Maj. Jim Cudney, the bilateral affairs officer in the U.S. Embassy in Tunis, Tunisia, Office of Security Cooperation. The ambassador’s visit was part of the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program which pairs nations with states, and places state Guardsmen, like Cudney, with the partner nation. Gray’s visit helped to lay the foundation for future exchanges and cooperation between Tunisia and Wyoming. The Wyoming National Guard and Tunisia were partnered in 2004 and maintain that partnership following the civil unrest and establishment of a new government in Tunisia.
