Airman 1st Class Austin Young, 205th Engineering and Installation Squadron (205th EIS) a cable installation Airman, places a strand of fiber optic cable into a fusion splicer to melt exposed glass fiber ends together July 24, 2018, during a hangar renovation project at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. The 205th EIS team, from Will Rogers Air National Guard Base in Oklahoma City, completed more than 1,000 cable drops and installed an estimated 200,000 feet of indoor cable as part of the 6-week install for the renovation, which was estimated to be a $22 million project in total.
