A monument honoring the memory of the loss of over 20,000 lives in World War II stands in Peleliu, April 9, 2019. U.S. Marines and Sailors with I Marine Expeditionary Force, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and U.S. 3rd Fleet visited the island while they participated in an Oceania site tour to pay respect to the heroic actions of the service members who lost thier lives in World War II.
