Sgt. Maj. Al Torres, the sergeant major of Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, calls the Marines of BLT 1/4 to attention prior to the arrival of Lt. Gen. Joseph L. Osterman, the commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, May 2, 2019. Lt. Gen. Osterman visited the Marines of BLT 1/4 before they depart Okinawa to conclude their deployment with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
