A B-1 Lancer takes off for the airframe’s 10,000th combat mission at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Feb. 26, 2012. The B-1, or “Bone” as it is affectionately known, performed its first combat mission in December 1998 during Operation Desert Fox. The B-1’s historic 10,000th combat mission was performed in support of ground forces in Afghanistan.
