Third Army soldiers lay in the unsupported prone position as they scan their sector for enemy movement during the Warrior Leader Course situational training exercise here, Feb. 25. During the STX, soldiers from across Third Army’s area of responsibility performed mobile military operations on urban terrain and an improvised explosive device detection lane to help them quickly identify IED’s in theater. WLC is the first course of study in the U.S. Army Non-commissioned Officer Education System. During the 15-day course, soldiers are trained on the fundamentals of leadership, training, and war fighting skills. By offering WLC to soldiers in its AOR, Third Army is shaping the future by educating, inspiring, and training future NCOs.
