Afghan cultural role-players walk to a replica mosque during an exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, La., Feb. 25, 2012. The JRTC training area is designed to replicate villages in Afghanistan, but it is the cultural role-players who provide an understanding of the Afghan way of life to soldiers and prepare them for the scenarios they may face while deployed.
