USS Wasp (LHD 1) enters Boston Harbor for a port visit to kick off Boston Navy Week. Several events are planned for the crew of the Norfolk-based multi-purpose amphibious assault ship in the historic city including a community service project at the New England Shelter for Homeless Veterans. The hospital and the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and presentation of colors at a Boston Red Sox game. The week is one of 26 Navy Weeks planned across America in 2007. Navy Weeks are designed to show Americans the investment they have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence, June 28.
