    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Lance Cpl. Andrew J. Strooman, a native of Lodi, California, displays a crab during a volunteer event sponsored by the Single Marine Program at Kanna Beach, Okinawa, Japan, April 24, 2019. Strooman, a machine gunner with Alpha Company, Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, graduated Lodi High School in May 2017 before enlisting in August later that year. During the SMP’s Days of Service week, BLT 1/4 Marines helped give back to the local community during outreach events across Okinawa.
