On March 22, retired Sgt. 1st Class Jimmy Novak started his trek across the continental United States to raise awareness of the nation’s 22 veterans we lose, on average, to suicide each day. 22 miles today, 22 miles tomorrow, 22 miles for 22 weeks. On April 18 Novak stayed the night at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho and before continuing his trek towards Mountain Home, he had breakfast with several Airmen from the Idaho Air National Guard. At the end of his journey, Novak will have walked for five months and more than 3,000 miles in support of bringing awareness to suicides in our veteran community.
