Capt. Sean Carroll and 1st Lt. Patrick Lavoie, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines (2-5), 3rd Infantry Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct a patrol along with Iraqi police on the surrounding streets of the South Ramadi Police Station, Ar Ramadi, Iraq, July 14. Second Battalion, 5th Marines and Iraqi Police work side by side in Southern Ramadi providing security in the area. Second Battalion, 5th Marines is deployed with Multi-National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market-based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
