Airman 1st Class Jeremias Smith, 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron member, deployed from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., provides security for the Anbar Operations Center from a tower using night vision goggles at "The Ranch" on Al Taqaddum Air Base, Iraq, April 9, 2019. Smith is part of a team of SF Airmen forward deployed from Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, tasked with a mission supplementing Marine force protection teams. Total Force Defenders at "The Ranch" provide quick reaction force teams and security overwatch of the Anbar Operations Center and are integrated with a team of Army, Navy and Marine counterparts.
