    5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment

Spc. Anthony Reed, a heavy equipment operator with the 617th Engineer Company, 864th Eng. Battalion, waits in a foxhole Feb. 10 that he and a few fellow soldiers built during a battalion-wide field training exercise on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Feb. 3-13. The exercise gave Reed and the rest of the battalion the opportunity to hone infantry-style fighting and defense tactics some of the battalion's soldiers haven't seen since basic training.
