    Airman 1st Class Brennan Morck

Airman 1st Class Brennan Morck, 305th Operations Support Squadron weatherman apprentice, hails from Madonsonville, Kentucky and tells us about his unique position in the Air Force.
“Everything that is on the base is under our responsibility to make sure that we put out the right watches, warnings and advisories to keep everyone safe.” Weathermen in the Air Force collect, analyze, predict and report forecasts to their jurisdiction. They effect and advise pilots before any mission and give local reports to their home station or abroad. Technical skills are required as well as the ability to speak clearly for briefings. He has been doing weather for 10 months at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. He describes his normal day: “I come in and chit-chat with the flight chief, check my email, pull up some radar and figure out what flights I have for the day. I’ll also monitor the sensors and depending on how much weather is going on that day determines the workload.”
Weathermen report and advise for both people on the ground and in the sky.
“I feel like I have a hand in the mission and am playing a part for seeing the job getting done.”
Our weather Airmen have faster and more accurate information than local weather agencies. Any one is welcome to stop by at building 1758 Vandenburg Ave on McGuire to inquire.
