U.S. Marines from Marine Forces Europe and Africa troubleshoot a communications network cable during exercise African Lion at the Southern Headquarters Zone in Agadir, Morocco, April 2, 2019. The MARFOREUR/AF Marines were responsible for helping set up and maintaining the Africa Mission Network during the command post exercise portion of African Lion 2019. AMNET is U.S. Africa Command’s episodic coalition network that has the ability to share classified information with U.S. partners for a specific operation, mission, or exercise. African Lion 2019 is an annual, combined-multilateral exercise designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of each nations’ tactics, techniques and procedures while demonstrating the strong bond between the nations’ militaries.
