Airman 1st Class Alec Whitacre, 74th Aircraft Maintenance Unit munitions specialist, puts on his personal protective equipment prior to an A-10C Thunderbolt II wash, Feb. 25, 2019, at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. To guarantee Moody’s fleet of 49 A-10s are in peak warfighting condition, Airmen from the 23d Maintenance Group dedicated over 10 hours washing the A-10 to ensure their aircraft is free of any surface or structural deficiencies that could present a safety hazard during flight.
