SAN DIEGO (March 28, 2019) – Sailors assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) inspect main machinery room number one during a damage control drill. Makin Island Sailors conduct main space damage control training twice a week to ensure proper readiness in the event of a casualty.
