Twenty Airmen from the 267th and 203rd Intelligence Squadrons visited the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in Seabrook, New Hampshire on March 22, 2019.
The purpose of the visit was to further the group’s understanding of nuclear power plants which are a key component of the nation’s Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR). The visit consisted of a facility tour and presentations about the plant’s cyber security, physical security, the nuclear power generation process, and an overview of the plant’s emergency action procedures. According to the Department of Homeland Security, nuclear power accounts for approximately 20 percent of the nation’s electrical use, provided by 104 commercial nuclear reactors licensed to operate in the United States.
