190321-N-RU084-1003 OXNARD, CALIF. (Mar. 21, 2019) – U.S. Navy Builder 2nd Class David Perryman, from Beaumont, California, assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2 ignites a Broco Tactical Cutting Torch to remove brackets off of an expeditionary quay wall patch (Curley patch) during a proof of concept test aboard Naval Base Ventura County in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The Curley patch technique provides expedient repair to piers and wharfs enabling military forces to continue to utilize the port to provide logistical support to the operating forces. PacBlitz19 provides realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability.
