190316-N-MD802-1261 SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, Calif. (Mar. 16, 2019) Sailors assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT-2) transit in a rigid-hulled inflatable boat after picking up divers conducting a scuba dive off the coast of San Clemente Island, California as part of Exercise Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). UCT-2 provides waterfront and underwater engineering, construction, repair, and inspection in support of Navy and Marine Corps operations and are capable of performing complex inshore and deep ocean underwater construction tasks. PacBlitz19 provides relevant training that replicates a realistic maritime threat environment designed to improve naval amphibious core competencies necessary for effective, global crisis response expected of the Navy and Marine Corps.
