190315-N-MD802-1407 SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, Calif. (March 15, 2019) U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Jacob Plumb, officer in charge from Roanoke, Virginia, assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT-2) operates the Fly Away Dive System III during a surface-supply dive with in-water oxygen decompression off the coast of San Clemente Island, California as part of Exercise Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). UCT-2 provides waterfront and underwater engineering, construction, repair, and inspection in support of Navy and Marine Corps operations and are capable of performing complex inshore and deep ocean underwater construction tasks. PacBlitz19 provides relevant training that replicates a realistic maritime threat environment designed to improve naval amphibious core competencies necessary for effective, global crisis response expected of the Navy and Marine Corps.
