190315-N-MD802-1210 SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, Calif. (March 15, 2019) U.S. Navy Construction Mechanic 2nd Class Luke Jackson, the standby diver, from Andover, Minnesota, assigned to Underwater Construction Team 2 (UCT-2) prepares for a surface-supply dive with in-water oxygen decompression off the coast of San Clemente Island, California as part of Exercise Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). UCT-2 provides waterfront and underwater engineering, construction, repair, and inspection in support of Navy and Marine Corps operations and are capable of performing complex inshore and deep ocean underwater construction tasks. PacBlitz19 provides relevant training that replicates a realistic maritime threat environment designed to improve naval amphibious core competencies necessary for effective, global crisis response expected of the Navy and Marine Corps.
