190312-N-RU084-1001 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (Mar. 12, 2019) – An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician assigned to EOD Mobile Unit 11 conducts a long-range damage assessment after a simulated airfield strike as part of an expeditionary rapid airfield damage repair (ExRADR) exercise on Vandenberg Air Force Base, California in support of Pacific Blitz 2019 (PacBlitz19). The ExRADR exercise tests the EOD and Seabee units’ ability to assess and repair runways enabling continued support to Navy and Marine Corps operations. Exercises like PacBlitz19 provide realistic, relevant training necessary for effective global crisis response and provides reassurance to U.S. regional partners and allies of enduring commitment to regional stability.
