Col. Patrick Michaelis, commander of the Mission Command Element in Poznan, Poland, explains operational procedures to members of the Polish armed forces during a command post exercise in Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland, March 22.

The purpose of the visit was to gain an understanding of the MCE's command post daily operations and to see how the headquarters' staff conducts battle tracking so that both the U.S. forces and Polish forces have a shared understanding and common operating picture during joint operations.

U.S. forces deployed to Europe in support of Atlantic Resolve is evidence of the strong and unremitting U.S. commitment to NATO and Europe. Through continuous, multinational training and security cooperation activities, Atlantic Resolve builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries.
