U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Gavin Hart, left, receives a plaque from Dana Outlaw, the mayor of New Bern, after his family was recognized as the Military Family of the Quarter in New Bern, North Carolina, March 14, 2019. The award is given to the military family that has most positively impacted the local community over the past quarter. The Hart’s donated and volunteered time and energy to the community by working with charities and a local elementary school.
