190320-N-HC646-0029 OAK HARBOR, Wash. (March 20, 2019) A prop FA-18F Super Hornet burns as part of the equipment testing by Navy Region Northwest Fire & Emergency Services (NRNW FES) Battalion Three onboard Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island. Members of NRNW FES Battalion Three performed operational familiarization of the newly acquired FA-18F Super Hornet simulator in preparation of the required semi-annual live fire training on NAS Whidbey Island to enhance safety and operational effectiveness.
