The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division out of Fort Bliss, Texas, deployed to Europe to exercise the U.S. Army’s ability to rapidly alert, recall and deploy under emergency conditions 19 March.
Approximately 1,500 Soldiers will utilize more than 700 pieces of equipment pulled from the Army Prepositioned Stock site in Eygelshoven, Netherlands.
APS is a U.S. department of the Army program in which equipment sets are stored around the globe for use if and when a combatant commander requires additional capabilities to help reduce deployment timelines, improve deterrence capabilities, and to improve additional combat power for contingency operations.
