Cedric Pringle, commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3, delivers his remarks during a change of command ceremony held in the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). During the ceremony, Capt. Christopher Westphal relieved Capt. David Oden as the commanding officer. Makin Island, homeported in San Diego, is conducting a depot-level maintenance availability.
